Osasuna boss Javier Aguirre has promised that the Pamplona side will fight to hang on to fourth place in the Primera Liga table and thus qualify for the 2006/07 UEFA Champions League.Osasuna lost at home to Real Madrid 1-0 on Sunday, the loss dropping them four points behind third-placed Real and just two points ahead of a Celta Vigo side that has won its last three matches.
"We are still fourth and we are determined to defend our narrow advantage over the others tooth and nail, Aguirre, the former Mexico boss, said.
"The players deserve it. You may be able to criticise their style but you can't fault their commitment.
"We are capable of playing good, bad and run-of-the-mill football but the team has grown in confidence and we feel strong for the remaining few games."
Osasuna travel to meet Atletico Madrid tonight and Racing Santander on May 7 before finishing at home against Valencia on May 14.
