1. Most L is with locking system now. But most H is with normal tongue and groove. It¡¯s difficult to install them together.

2. H is usually 18mm thick. But L is usually 8mm or 12mm thick. Then the installed floor surface will be uneven.

3. H is usually with UV paint on the surface, while most L is not. UV paint makes the surface of H shine. So the mixed installation will offer a bad look.

4. The installation method of them is different. Laminated flooring is installed on the underlay, while hardwood flooring is installed with beam. So it will be very difficult to do the installation work.

And he plans to cut the laminate with some special electric saw himself. There are some points which he should care before the work. 1. It will be better for he to line the laminate with a straight line where he plans to cut. 2. The subfloor is easy to be damaged if the person works in this way. And the subfloor will become uneven after the cut. So he should make the subfloor even as laminated flooring will expand or ¡°float¡± across the cut location sometime. 3. Some accessories such as reducer and end cap should be used at the cut place.

Thought the floor has been protected with some film, the laminated flooring was stained with the spilled dope through the leak of the film. And dope hasn¡¯t been removed for a long time. It has become solid and attached the floor firmly. He wonders how to remove the dope.

He can scrape the dope with a dull knife to get rid of most of the attached dope first. For the left dope, wet it with acetone. Acetone can make the left dope thaw. Just offer enough amount of acetone to have the left dope wet. Too much atone will make the laminated flooring expand and maybe warp. And don¡¯t wait until the left dope is easy to be removed.

First, move the furniture and other indoor things on laminated flooring to offer enough space to move the skirting. The skirting is usually 2.4meters long. It needs large space when it moves.

There are usually two types of skirting for laminate flooring. One type is nailed from the surface to the wall directly; the other type is just nailed on holder. Then the main part of the skirting is put on the holder. Regarding the type nailed one nailed on the surface, use the relevant screwdriver to disassemble the tail. The skirting will be separated from the wall without the tail. Regarding the other type of skirting with holder, first use some special screw which will ¡°expand¡± after it is punched in the skirting. It is very hard to for the cart to damage laminate as long as the wheel of the cart is padded with plastic or wooden material. You can choose AC3 rated products if the cart is too heavy.

Someone wants to buy oak colored laminted flooring. And the guy of the store which he visited showed him the oak colored plank. But he doubt if it is real oak color.

In fact, the color name is not important for laminated flooring. The color name is just a ¡°given name¡± for the second layer of laminate. If you like the look of the color, you can choose it. If you really care the color, you can check the wood pattern of relevant hardwood as the color of laminate is imitated from hardwood by computer technology. There are many little vertical lines with oak color. And the ring shape wood pattern is not soft.

Someone has a question:¡± I¡¯m installing laminated flooring myself at my office. But there is a step down to stair at the edge of office. How to deal with the joint between the floor and stair?¡± If the stair is also installed with laminated flooring, you can use all types of stair nose, reducer or end cap to cover the edge. The material of end cap and reducer can be MDF, PVC or copper.  If not, you¡¯d better use copper reducer. These accessories can be  got from the store or super market. You can get some samples of the accessories first to check it is suitable for your house. Glue the accessory at the right place. And then don¡¯t touch it until 24 hours later since the gluing.

Someone asked us: I plan to install laminated flooring in all of my rooms including my kitchen. But I worry that unseen spills will make laminate broken. Please give me some suggestion if laminate can be installed the kitchen. The answer: The unseen spills can¡¯t make laminated flooring plump as long as it is cleaned immediately or the locking system is waxed. The real problem for the installation of laminate at kitchen is that there is often large amount of water splashed on the floor which will make laminate pushes up. What's more kitchen is too damp. So laminate is not suitable for kitchen. I suggest that you choose ceramic tile or marble for kitchen floor.

Some one had a question: ¡°I installed laminated flooring in my bedroom recently. There is my washroom if one door of our bedroom is opened. The floor of my washroom is covered ceramic tile. The ceramic tile is about 8mm higher than laminate floor. I just wonder how to trim the space between laminate flooring and ceramic tile. Please let me know to do it.¡±

The answer:  I suggest you use copper reducer to trim the space as wooden laminated flooring accessories is not waterproof and washroom is a place with much water. You can purchase the 8mm thick copper reducer and almighty glue water from the relevant store. Glue the copper reducer in transition space. Don¡¯t step on the transition space in 2 days after the trim work to make the copper reducer glued to transition space firmly.

8mm is the most popular thickness. There are several reasons for this:

A. 8mm laminated flooring is much cheaper than 12mm due the cost of support material. Though it is a bit more curving than 12mm plank, the locking sytem of it still work well. But the price difference among 6mm, 7mm and 8mm is very little. B. 1*20ft container can hold about 2630sqm of 8mm laminate flooring(pallets are included in container). For 12mm plank, the packing  quantity is about 1830sqm. So more 8mm laminate flooring can be put in 1*20ft container, which reduces the shipping cost a great deal. C. There is no big noise with 8mm plank when people step on it. D. 8mm thickness can work with 297mm width. But for 6mm and 7mm,the plank is easy to buckle in the across side. E. There are many possible quality problems with 6mm and 7mm planks:  1. The planks are so curving that they can¡¯t lock each other very well. 2. The planks are too thin to hold the locking system at the edge. 3. The locking system on the planks is too weak to connect together firmly. But the quality of 8mm is very stable.
